Iraqi TV Says Saddam Hussein Executed Dec 29, 11:57 PM (ET)

By CHRISTOPHER TORCHIA and QASSIM ABDUL-ZAHRA BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Saddam Hussein, the shotgun-waving dictator who ruled Iraq with a remorseless brutality for a quarter-century and was driven from power by a U.S.-led war that left his country in shambles, was taken to the gallows and executed Saturday. It was a grim end for the 69-year-old leader who had vexed three U.S. presidents. Despite his ouster, Washington, its allies and the new Iraqi leaders remain mired in a fight to quell a stubborn insurgency by Saddam loyalists and a vicious sectarian conflict.

President Bush called Saddam's execution "the kind of justice he denied the victims of his brutal regime."

Also hanged were Saddam's half-brother Barzan Ibrahim and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, the former chief justice of the Revolutionary Court. State-run Iraqiya television news announcer said "criminal Saddam was hanged to death and the execution started with criminal Saddam then Barzan then Awad al-Bandar."Mariam al-Rayes, a legal expert and a former member of the Shiite bloc in parliament, told Iraqiya television that the execution "was filmed and God willing it will be shown. There was one camera present, and a doctor was also present there."

Al-Rayes, an ally of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, did not attend the execution. She said Al-Maliki did not attend but was represented by an aide. The station earlier was airing national songs after the first announcement and had a tag on the screen that read "Saddam's execution marks the end of a dark period of Iraq's history." The execution was carried out around the start of Eid al-Adha, the Islamic world's largest holiday, which marks the end of the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, the hajj. Many Muslims celebrate by sacrificing domestic animals, usually sheep. Sunnis and Shiites throughout the world began observing the four-day holiday at dawn Saturday, but Iraq's Shiite community - the country's majority - was due to start celebrating on Sunday.

The execution came 56 days after a court convicted Saddam and sentenced him to death for his role in the killings of 148 Shiite Muslims from a town where assassins tried to kill the dictator in 1982. Iraq's highest court rejected Saddam's appeal Monday and ordered him executed within 30 days. A U.S. judge on Friday refused to stop Saddam's execution, rejecting a last-minute court challenge. Al-Maliki had rejected calls that Saddam be spared, telling families of people killed during the dictator's rule that would be an insult to the victims. "Our respect for human rights requires us to execute him, and there will be no review or delay in carrying out the sentence," al-Maliki's office quoted him as saying during a meeting with relatives before the hanging.

The hanging of Saddam, who was ruthless in ordering executions of his opponents, will keep other Iraqis from pursuing justice against the ousted leader. At his death, he was in the midst of a second trial, charged with genocide and other crimes for a 1987-88 military crackdown that killed an estimated 180,000 Kurds in northern Iraq. Experts said the trial of his co-defendants was likely to continue despite his execution. Many people in Iraq's Shiite majority were eager to see the execution of a man whose Sunni Arab-dominated regime oppressed them and Kurds. Before the hanging, a mosque preacher in the Shiite holy city of Najaf on Friday called Saddam's execution "God's gift to Iraqis."

"Oh, God, you know what Saddam has done! He killed millions of Iraqis in prisons, in wars with neighboring countries and he is responsible for mass graves. Oh God, we ask you to take revenge on Saddam," said Sheik Sadralddin al-Qubanji, a member of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq. On Thursday, two half brothers visited Saddam in his cell, a member of the former dictator's defense team, Badee Izzat Aref, told The Associated Press by telephone from the United Arab Emirates. He said the former dictator handed them his personal belongings.

A senior official at the Iraqi defense ministry said Saddam gave his will to one of his half brothers. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. In a farewell message to Iraqis posted Wednesday on the Internet, Saddam said he was giving his life for his country as part of the struggle against the U.S. "Here, I offer my soul to God as a sacrifice, and if he wants, he will send it to heaven with the martyrs," he said. One of Saddam's lawyers, Issam Ghazzawi, said the letter was written by Saddam on Nov. 5, the day he was convicted by an Iraqi tribunal in the Dujail killings. The message called on Iraqis to put aside the sectarian hatred that has bloodied their nation for a year and voiced support for the Sunni Arab-dominated insurgency against U.S.-led forces, saying: "Long live jihad and the mujahedeen."

Saddam urged Iraqis to rely on God's help in fighting "against the unjust nations" that ousted his regime.Najeeb al-Nauimi, a member of Saddam's legal team, said U.S. authorities maintained physical custody of Saddam until the execution to prevent him being humiliated publicly or his corpse being mutilated, as has happened to previous Iraqi leaders deposed by force. He said they didn't want anything to happen to further inflame Sunni Arabs. "This is the end of an era in Iraq," al-Nauimi said from Doha, Qatar. "The Baath regime ruled for 35 years. Saddam was vice president or president of Iraq during those years. For Iraqis, he will be very well remembered. Like a martyr, he died for the sake of his country."

Iraq's death penalty was suspended by the U.S. military after it toppled Saddam in 2003, but the new Iraqi government reinstated it two years later, saying executions would deter criminals. Saddam's own regime used executions and extrajudicial killings as a tool of political repression, both to eliminate real or suspected political opponents and to maintain a reign of terror. In the months after he seized power on July 16, 1979, he had hundreds of members of his own party and army officers slain. In 1996, he ordered the slaying of two sons-in-law who had defected to Jordan but returned to Baghdad after receiving guarantees of safety.

Saddam built Iraq into a one of the Arab world's most modern societies, but then plunged the country into an eight-year war with neighboring Iran that killed hundreds of thousands of people on both sides and wrecked Iraq's economy. During that war, as part of the wider campaign against Kurds, the Iraqi military used chemical weapons against the Kurdish town of Halabja in northern Iraq, killing an estimated 5,000 civilians. The economic troubles from the Iran war led Saddam to invade Kuwait in the summer of 1990, seeking to grab its oil wealth, but a U.S.-led coalition inflicted a stinging defeat on the Iraq army and freed the Kuwaitis. U.N. sanctions imposed over the Kuwait invasion remained in place when Saddam failed to cooperate fully in international efforts to ensure his programs for creating weapons of mass destruction had been dismantled. Iraqis, once among the region's most prosperous, were impoverished.

The final blow came when U.S.-led troops invaded in March 2003. Saddam's regime fell quickly, but political, sectarian and criminal violence have created chaos that has undermined efforts to rebuild Iraq's ruined economy. While he wielded a heavy hand to maintain control, Saddam also sought to win public support with a personality cult that pervaded Iraqi society. Thousands of portraits, posters, statues and murals were erected in his honor all over Iraq. His face could be seen on the sides of office buildings, schools, airports and shops and on Iraq's currency.

Equality Under Allah-Is Islam's Core Belief?
This may be so in principle, and may be displayed at Mecca, during the annual Haj pilgrimage to the place where the prophet Mohammed gave his last public message.
* But in some Islamic ruled countries, women cannot be seen in public without the Borka or Veil that covers the face and possible the entire anatomy.
* Women are not allowed to speak, participate, or indulge in anything political.
* Women are not allowed to hold public or political office.
* Women are not allowed to sit 'beside men' in most Islamic Mosques or Masjids.
* Women are still being killed in some Islamic countries if she is accused of adultery, or having sex outside or before officially sanctioned marriages.
* In Southern Nigeria-a state that practices Sharia Law, women can be stoned to death for adultery.
These are just some of the in-equalities that is internationally known, and contradicts the view that women are equal under Allah?

BBC Pays Homage To James Brown!

British Television Pays Homage To James Brown!

It was the BBC news on television that gave the late-great Black American James Brown, the homage and recognition that he deserves.
It was the BBC that allotted about five minutes of television time, to highlight his advent on the US entertainment stage, with much praises and kudos for his achievements. I was very impressed when I heard that James Brown believed, that in order for Black Americans to survive economically, they must entertain the thought, and indulge in entrepreneurship that promotes Black capitalism!
I have not seen or heard much said on our local TV networks. And what little was mentioned, was very brief and sketchy indeed.

What Or Where Is Heaven?

If an individual could rid himself or herself of all Hate, Anger, Vanity, Self-Pity, Rancor, Regret, Expectations, Jealousy, and Pain. Then he or she is on the road to experiencing Enlightenment or Heavenly peace!


The Element Of Seeing & Knowing!

Most religions advocate for the ability to accept that which cannot be seen or understood with the eyes and mind. For physicists, this is un-acceptable. Because science is based on the principles of Sight-Measurement & Quantification. So if something cannot be seen, measured, and quantified, scientists will categorize those things in the field of faith, or imagination.
Humans are genetically programmed to understand the physical world around us. At least, that is the general understanding held by thousands on this planet. But most of us also believe that there is something within each individual that is not fully understood, or comprehended. And this thing may be called God, mind, spirit, a hunch, a gut feeling, or insight.
Whatever it is, most people seem to feel that we could connect, or have lost the direct connection to that thing within us. And because of not being able to connect 'at will' with this thing, we are left to seek recourse from some other thing, philosophy, or doctrine, that will give us some comfort, and re-assurance about ourselves.
Not knowing what will become of our relatives, loved ones, families, or friends when we are physically dead, bothers most people a great deal.

The Afterlife concept:

The afterlife came in to fill the void of un-certainty as indicated above. So Heaven, Paradise, and even Hell was fashioned to explain these fantasies, perceptions, or fears, that most humans possess. Trying to convince people who do not accept an afterlife, or do not believe in a God, or do not believe in Hell, is quite a task. So atheists, and even Agnostics were created as categories for those individuals. Overtime, with the passage of time, human development, natural and man made disasters that impacts humans negatively on a mass scale, are also identified to be the hand of God or Allah at work, trying to get humans to acknowledge or pay homage to this creator of all things.

CONCLUSION:

I have said before, and will reiterate again, that humans have the capacity to create, or believe in any thing they choose. That is what contributes to our social, technological, and mental development over the centuries. Because of this ability, we as a human specie, was able to survive on this planet for so long, without becoming extinct. Currently, we have the ability to erase all physical life, or all life from this planet with the pressing of an atomic or nuclear button. That is the extent to which our abilities have evolved.
Call it God's gifts, genetic development, or evolution in action. Whatever it is, humans will continue to do great things in each other's eyes. Even populate other planets in our galaxy at some point in time too!

Can An Elected Public Official Swear Only By The US Constitution?

Would An Atheist Be Allowed To Swear By The Constitution & Not The Christian Bible?

And can A Public Official swear by the Constitution Of The US ONLY, without acknowledging any religious belief or affiliation?


With regard to the above questions, please indulge me in outlining some of my concerns in this regard:

The Constitution Of The United States is the Supreme Laws or guide, that oversees all other laws that may be enacted Municipally, by the State, or the Federal authorities. The US Congress and Senate are obliged to acknowledge this constitution in their deliberations, legislation, and the enactment of any laws therein, in the interest of the public good.

All elected Public Officials must swear 'pubicly' to abide by the rules and guidelines of this constitution. Regardless of his or her religious affiliations or beliefs.

Therefore, when the Rep. elect Keith Ellison Congressman of Moslem faith chose to swear on the Quran the source of his religious belief, he was acting in accordance with his civil and constitutional right to do so. So long as he or she acknowledges the US Constitution as the supreme jurisprudence.

I cannot see how being a Moslem, Faithist, Shinto, Jew, Taoist, or Christian, or even an Atheist, has anything to do with the expected pledge of allegiance to the Constitution Of The United States Of America!

The Wisdom Of The Generals vs The Self-righteousness Of The Commander In Chief!

When a military General sees defeat steering him and his troops in the face, but insists that he will win the war. That general is either SENILE, or just plain irresponsible for the lives of his troops.
Therefore, currently the military leaders or Generals on the ground in Iraq says, sending more troops to Iraq will not help in any way, to win a war that was lost months ago, and no obvious reasons to stay the course, or continue to incur the loss of thousands of American troops in Iraq.
And sending an upsurge of troops to Baghdad, will be perceived by the insurgents on both fronts, and those who intend to prolong the violence nationally against foreign occupation in Iraq, as a Humbug or Infringement upon their internal political struggle. And these soldiers could very well become the new targets for extermination by both religious fronts!
'Saving face' in Iraq may be a political necessity for President George W. Bush, but will not foster morale among the troops there.
Nor will it justify the continuous slaughter of innocent lives on both sides of this conflict, and the inevitable withdrawal of our forces, with grave embarrassment, and regret for not doing so much earlier!

African Men Must Circumcise Or Else!

AFRICAN Men-Must Circumcise Or Else!


With the spread of HIV and malaria, on the continent of Africa. And the difficulty to control or curb the spread of both maladies. African men are now being told to circumcise or else!

With Uganda in the forefront, with their policy of "Condom usage, Being Faithful to one partner, & No Grazing outside of marriage, which seem to have made a difference in arresting the spread of HIV in that state. Now, this new trial on African men, reported by The BBC today, seem to suggest that HIV is more easily transmitted via un-circumcised men. The authorities who made this declaration claims that they are 50% certain that with circumcism of all African men, the spread of HIV will be curtailed.

Isn't this the most brazen declaration that was ever made on any pandemic, much less HIV?
HIV has been spreading among American males, who are by and large predominantly circumcised. This is found mostly among Caucasian and Black American males. Yet the spread of HIV is still rampant among Blacks and Latinos currently in America. Ever since the discovery of HIV among men firstly.
This virus had not discriminated between those who are circumcised or not. So why does any rational thinking person would assume that it would for African men?

And what about the following diseases?
* Chlamydia:
* Herpes:
* Gonorrhea:
* Syphilis:
This to my mind is yet another ploy to coerce those African states or governments, who need HIV medication and technical help from the west, to help curb this deadly virus among them. And they are being dictated to once more, as to how, where, and who, must comply with these dictates, in order to qualify for assistance.

FURTHERMORE:

Regardless of where circumcism has been practised. I still maintain that such procedures must never be done in childhood or at childbirth. This is another form of 'mutilation.' And in infancy, that child has no say on the matter.
If adults (for reasons best known to themselves), feel they have to be circumcised, then that will be their choice, as ADULTS.
But do not use relgion, some scientific findings, or any other method, to COERCE people into complying with a procedure of self-mutilation, becsuse some persons in the scientific or political communities think, that is the way to prevent some form or infection.

Holocaust Summit In Tehran?

Iran's President-Ahmadinejad have said on several occasions that the Jewish state of Israel has no legitimate right, and should not exist.
He is not alone with this opinion either!
However, currently he is allowing a summit/conference for Jews globally, to discuss the horrors of the holocaust, which is being held in Tehran-Iran.
What is the rational for hosting such a conference in a state whose leadership advocate for the erasing of Israel from the planet?

Former Chilean Dictator-Agusto Pinochet Is Dead!

CNN is currently reporting that the demonstration on the streets in Chile, is as a result of the death of former President Pinochet. For the flying of the national flag at half mask in respect.
Which is definitely not so, as you will see from BBC's reports below.

Riots Mar Chile Strike!
Chilean police used tear gas and water canons to disperse demonstrators blocking roads in the capital, Santiago, as unions staged a one-day strike. It was the first nationwide strike in Chile for almost 20 years. Organisers declared the stoppage a success, but the government said support had been minimal. The strike was called by Chile's main trade union federation, CUT, to demand better working conditions and benefits. Riot police broke up a march by about 3,000 strikers along Santiago's main avenue, Alameda. Police moved in after youths began destroying traffic lights and shop windows. At least 130 people were arrested.

Frustration:
Trade union leaders said the violent demonstrators were not CUT members. "It was a big, active national strike with people marching, expressing themselves and seeking to be heard," CUT President Arturo Martinez said. CUT says the strike stopped 80% of business activity. However, the government insists the strike was a failure. It says most public services were close to normal - although 35% of school teachers joined the strike, and several government offices operated with reduced staff. Interior Minister Jose Miguel Insulza said that no businesses had stopped. Business associations reported that about 13% of private sector workers stayed away. The unions say they are frustrated with the policies of President Ricardo Lagos, a socialist they supported in the 2000 election.
The last time the CUT called a general strike was in the 1980's under military dictator Augusto Pinochet.

My Views On God & Spirituality!

My Views On God & Spirituality!

Let me first clear the air on Religion, and Spirituality!
Firstly, I do not believe in any GOD. Visible or Invisible!
* I also do not subscribe to any religion or religious belief/s.
* Personally, I feel that all religions were created by humans to control and subjugate the human mind, bodies, and hearts, to think, act, worship, and behave in certain pre-scribed ways, according to the fancies of the rulers at different times in our human history.

As for Spirituality!

I also believe that humans came into existence from the Cosmic Realm, over eons of cosmic transformations.
When or how we as Humans came into existence as physical bodies, is anybody's guess.
However, I also believe that the invisible essence is part of our existence, and is what all humans will return to in physical death.
First as Ashes, or Bones, then we deteriate further to mingle or dissolve into nothingness, or cosmic energy.
I do not believe in any invisible or Supreme Master either!.
Humans created Masters to enslave, control, and dictate to other humans.
So anyone who still feel he or she needs A Master, is still a slave mentally, psychologically, and spiritually.

Furthermore:

To answer your question, 'how did the universe came into being? I do not know!
But I feel there never was any begining. So there can never be an end. As your Christian prayer says. "Forever & ever-World without end. I think that too is the Roman Catholic concept of all things.
I would also like to ask, if there was a begining to all that we see in this cosmic, then who or what caused that begining, and who or what caused the begining before that?
So the questions will never end now (will it)?
So I do not concern myself wth how this universe started (if it ever had a begining anyway).
That is why I cannot conceive of a God, because the above questions cannot be rationally or scientifically explained!

A Totalitarian State In The Making!

President Hugo Chavez has won 78% of the vote in his country's national elections. The opposition and business community oriented party came in with about 60% of the vote. Mr. Chavez wants to change the current Venezuelan Constitution to allow him to hold office indefinitely. This he claims will allow him and his political party's Socialist quest to be fully realized, (hopefully)!

But be warned my readers, allowing Mr. Chavez to become president for life, by altering the national constitution, will be most certainly the beginning of the end for Freedom, Liberty, and the Democratic process, which allows for FREE Elections, at certain intervals. There never was any political leader or military leader in power, who was able to voluntary relinquish power to the people, without national strife, mass killing of innocent civilians, curfews, mass arrests, or a military coup.

Looking back at the following dictators we will see the pattern repeating itself again and again:
* Adolf Hitler-National Socialism. He wanted to bring reforms to a defeated Germany after World War-1's defeat. Eventually he became the Reich Chancellor, Dictator, and Initiator of mass killings of millions of his own Jewish citizens at home and abroad.
* Kim IL Sung, another dictator for life in North Korea. He initiated the philosophy of JUCHEA. This was based on the premise that all Koreans must seek full self reliance, and self realization from any foreign dependency.
He too became a dictator, a self serving eccentric, and was unable to adequately feed his people when a massive famine hit that country. Millions of Koreans starved to death from that famine. His heir the so-called Dear Leader, Kim Jung IL, is now continuing down the same path as his father, to total destitution and mass depravation.
* Fidel Castro defeated the Batista Dictatorship in the 1950's, and introduced National Socialism to Cuba. He too is president for life. Totally intolerant of any opposition that is likely to un-seat him from power.
* The same can be said for Idi Amin of Uganda, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, and so many other current dictators around the globe.
Therefore, take warning, never allow any political leader to stay in power INDEFINITELY, because in time he or she will become so self-obsessed with power, that relinquishing it will never be tolerated, much less allowed. Furthermore, Any country that does not allow or have a political party in opposition, to challenge the ruling party or class, that country is headed to becoming a Totalitarian State for sure!

The New US National Log Of Citizens' Travels?

There seem to be some interest in the creation of some legislation to accommodate the Federal Government's desire to monitor all citizens and foreigners, who travel out or travel in the United States.

The stated reasons are as follows:
* To monitor all citizens who travel to countries suspected of supporting or harboring terrorists.
* To keep a Log of all movements of travellers within and without the USA for National Security reasons:

It is felt that having such records will allow the National Security agency to provide much needed evidence, and travel behaviors of any suspect, that comes up
on their list of suspicious behaviors.

Citizen's Concerns:

Who is to know where this information may lead to eventually. or who will have access to it, and use for reasons for which it was not intended. And it is suggested by some concerned citizens, that this information must never be used for gaining employment, getting a driver's license, or gaining college entry.

However, the Feds will also not want to employ anyone who is under suspicion for some form of terrorist activities, within their employ either!

Endemic Murder Within The New York City Police Dept!

The current murder of an innocent civilian, and injury of three others are an indication of the seemingly ENDEMIC and institutionalized culture, within the New York City police.
Under the Juiliani Mayoral administration, we have seen the murder of an African and an Haitian, gunned down by the NYC police. The Haitian was severely physically abused by the interrogating police, who not only severely beat him senseless. But SODOMIZED him with the PLUNGER from the bathroom, in which this horror took place.
These police officers were NEVER convicted for any wrong doing!
Then there was the killing of an African native, who was shot with 41 rounds of ammunition by the police. These officers were never convicted of any wrong doing either by the courts. The mother of this African immigrant eventually got three million dollars compensation for this crime.
Now it is another Black young male in his twenties, who was gunned down to death with 50 rounds of ammo by the police, and his two other mates in the vehicle in which they were driving, incurred severe gunshot wounds. All this occurred when they were leaving a bachelor party, prior to his wedding scheduled to take place the next day.
We have also seen several incidents where the NYC police have shot at, arrested, or threatened young Black and Hispanic males in New York City, because they felt it necessary to do so. And this continues to be the behavior, regardless of how many times the Mayor or Police Chief says that these officers are trained to conduct themselves professionally.
Well, if this is professional behavior that the NYC police is displaying. Then there is no safety or justice to be expected PERIOD, from the people who tax payers are paying, to provide protection for all citizens in New York City.
I have always believed that the Police Institution was intended to protect the interests of The Ruling Classes, and their acolytes. This belief of mine have become even more entrenched, as I see Police brutality on the increase throughout this nation (the USA), on a daily basis.
And I have no empathy for any police, (male or female) who gets killed in the line of duty any longer!

Do Humans Really Have A Choice Or Free Will? OR Why Do They Choose What They Choose?


I think humans do not have FREE WILL in a practical sense. What we have is really a choice, which may or may not be a free one at any given time.

Let me explain.

A new born baby comes into this world devoid of what society perceives as right or wrong.

He or she sees a lighted candle, and innocently via curiosity, reaches out to touch this candle or flame. Then he or she gets burned.

This experience is now filed away in the mind for future reference un-consciously.

So the next time that child or baby sees a lighted candle, he or she is less inclined to touch the flame, less he or she be burned once again!

This to my mind is "FREE CHOICE," based on some prior or learned experience.

Now Free Will is another factor that humans claim to have, but is simply the influences that the brain absorbs mentally. And files away these thoughts, observations, and personal experiences, and provides us with this data when the need arises, to act in any given situation.

For example:
A shackled slave cannot escape that situation easily without assistance from another slave, or some other person.

Nor can this slave 'Will' his or her freedom either!

These desires, have to be realized through actual removal from that situation physically.

Or escape from that situation physically.
And after so doing, the slave must feel that he or she is now free of that situation!

This to my mind is truly (Free Choice)!

Giving Thanks For What?


As we celebrate Thanks Giving. And as we eat the indigenous turkey, let us for a moment ponder these realities:

* Thousands of innocent Black native civilians of Darfur-Sudan have been killed, while others fled to camps, miles away from their homes, with flimsy protection by the African Union meagre forces, mandated to oversee that situation, but not to intervene, unless attacked.

They fled in the thousands from massacre by the Sudanese government backed 'Janjaweed' militias. A contracted band of pro government, and anti-Black terrorists, paid by that government.

* Let us not forget the thousands of Americans who were affected by hurricane Katrina, and are still homeless, jobless, displaced, without health care, and without hope.

* Let us not forget the thousands of US military personnel who are dead, injured or maimed, and are stuck in Iraq & Afghanistan. Fighting two wars that have become a nightmare, and an embarrassment to all rational thinking Americans.

* For these men and women who volunteered to serve their country, are making the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Regardless of political affiliation or support.

* And let us not forget the two year political reprieve and probation that was entrusted to the now majority controlled Democratic party in Congress and the Senate, to encourage bi-partisan relations and co-operation for a speedy settlement and plan to bring our troops home SOON.

Comedian Michael Richard's Racist Aspersions In Public!

The local media was having a field day with the aftershock that resulted from a local comedian's racist aspersions on stage recently. CN -Paula Zahn too, seem to be one of the television anchors who are pushing for some form of reconciliation from the comedian involved, to somehow make amends for his wrong doing.
However, in view of this current concern for the upsurge of racist remarks, by public figures within our society (The USA), I am tempted to give an explanation for this issue.

Most people harbor some form of prejudice within themselves. Prejudice like any other view, or belief, is learned from our individual upbringing, families, relatives, neighborhoods, cultures, and even religions.
At some point in our mental development certain prejudices develop, and is filed away in our psyches or minds, for future recall. Most of these views about people and cultures that we perceive as Good, Bad, Barbarian, Savage, Un-civilized, Inhuman, or even not worth sharing this planet with those who are their betters. Are all kept under raps, until some situation, or stimuli causes us or the individual to voice or act out those prejudices.

Sometimes with or without the desirable result.

Every individual or culture must come to terms with his or their prejudices. This can be done either by speaking out publicly against it, organizing forums to discuss it, or legislate laws to punish anyone who, with intent to hurt or harm others, whom may not fit a certain desired profile.

Gays Get Legal Approval To Marry In South Africa!

South Africa's constitution provides for equality in marriage between two people of the same or opposite sexes.

Therefore, it was only a matter of time before the parliament there enforced this law if the situation so warranted. And now this formality has become necessary to enforce. So the law was enacted to allow same sex marriages to happen, with all the rights and responsibilities inherent there, as with heterosexual unions.

South Africa is the only African country on the continent of Africa that has such laws. In a predominantly Gay biased continent, this is indeed a breakthrough for homosexuals there.

How Could The US-Save Face In Iraq?

We have been hearing prior to and after the Democrats have attained the majority in the House & Senate, that our troops should be removed in segments during a specified period of time. And that the government of Iraq must take full control of their national security and stability. And not continue to depend of US and other coalition muscle to assist them in that regard indefinitely.

So the questions to follow these proposals aught to be the following:

* Does the Iraqi National army have the necessary military hardware, munitions, and officer personal to do the job effectively, and successfully?

* Are the US willing to furnish the Iraqi army the required military hardware do so successfully, and if so how soon?

* And if this phased withdrawal is agreed upon by the US and Iraqi governments, when will it go into effect?

Currently, the Iraqi's are using mediocre military vehicles, and other hardware to get around that country, that is totally inadequate to repel the insurgents in an effective manner. You cannot use land rovers, and small vans to pursue an enemy that has rockets, hand grenades, and other missiles that could obliterate those vehicles in an instant, to do that job!

* And if the US is truly committed to ending this insurgency, and for stability in the entire country of Iraq, they MUST provide the Iraqi Army, and Police with the tools to do the job.

As Sir. Winston Churchill said during World War-2, as the Germans were ravishing the City of London, Quote: "Give Us The Tools-And We Will Finish The Job." He was asking the Roosevelt Administration in Washington at that time for this assistance!

Rap Music's Exposure In Europe:

I was listening today to a few Radio Stations on the Internet, based in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and others.

And here is the type of RAP music these stations are playing.

* RAP music that promotes violence among Blacks in the ghettos and inner cities.

There was one of these songs that said to 'Hide Your Jewels When A Nigga Passes By.

I was shocked and appalled that this type of music is being made by Black Rappers and is being aired abroad.

Of course such music would not get radio time here in the USA because of the obscene and graphic explanation of violence, hate, and derogation of Blacks on Blacks.

If this is the way Black RAP entertainers and musicians are prepared to sell albums, or promote HIP-HOP, then I shudder at the thought of how we Blacks are perceived generally around the world.

From what I have been reading on the Internet, youngsters in many countries feel that these songs are the true expression of how Blacks live, Interact, and deal with their fellows on a daily basis, here in the USA.

So brothers, you may want to make that PAPER, but have you ever considered what impression you are giving on the international arena of our people?

I think it is high time you entertainers of HIP-HOP & RAP re-think the type of lyrics that you use for your music. Because more often than not, it will be taken quite LITERALLY in several countries around the world.

And that would be indirectly promoting ethnic stereotyping, and mis-information about how Blacks are, live, feel, and believe!

I knew of Eartha ever since I was a child, and that was since the 1950's. Today at 80 years of age, Eartha Kitt is still performing, and is still in demand in Europe's many cabarets.

Her versatility, unique style, and physical appeal on stage, has no equal.

The Democratic Party Is On Probation:

The winds of change have blown away the Republican control of the House & Senate. But the White House is still in the hands of a Republican president, who still has veto powers, and is responsible for all foreign policies. So what are we expecting in the next two years from the Democratic majority in the House and Senate to achieve?

Mind you, the war in Iraq & Afghanistan is still in progress. The war on terrorism as espoused by George W. Bush is still the administration's principal agenda. And the national concern for the deaths and injuries of thousands of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, is still a crucial concern on the minds of all rational thinking Americans.

However, the Democrats have promised to bring back "Civility and Democracy" to the administration in Washington. And to set the stage for some major concerns that they (the Democrats) have to bring to the fore. But at the same time, the American people chose to give the Democratic Party the chance to make things right. Or at least set the stage for making things right in terms of strategy, resource deployment, and eventual withdrawal of our armed forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.
This mandate was endorsed by constituents from both political camps in a Real & Big way!
There are those who feel that proceedings to IMPEACH George W. Bush, Vice President Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and other suspects, under the suspicion of complicity for torture, and other acts against humanity, in a time of war. This view to my mind is unhealthy, and irrational at this time, because it could (if acted upon at this time), may create a climate of national division, and a crisis of political management. And remember, that the Commander In Chief of the US armed forces is the sitting president. So to make moves in the aforementioned direction, would create a void of responsibility for the overseeing and management of those who are entrusted to conduct these wars.

Furthermore, if such action is pursued by the Democrats, this may very well impede the benefits and political support they have currently received. And may further impede them from getting the necessary support and votes across the board in the elections of 2008! Even though such concerns may have validity, this may not be the time politically, to move in that direction just yet. What is vitally needed in both houses currently, is for them to engage in bi-partisan co-operation on bills and policies that would appease the commonweal, in those areas that are considered crucial to national development and re-conciliation.

For example, the Minimum Wage question, the Immigration issues, the Healthcare issues, the Border Security and Policing issues, National Security, Individual Privacy, Freedom of the Internet, and Disaster Pre-paredness considerations.

Furthermore, we now have a female Speaker of the House Of Representatives.

* How will she be received by the Republicans?

* How much influence could she induce unilaterally, on bills that promotes the democratic agenda, and who or what gets her attention and priority?

These will be the concerns of Republicans in Congress and the Senate in the next two years left to them, before the 2008 national elections!

Finally, I sincerely hope that The White House administration willingly allows access to the Democrats, on issues that they may not necessarily agree upon. But accommodates compromises, and the sharing of responsibilities and accountability on both sides. For after all, both parties are accountable to the American electorate.

Personally, I believe if you have the choice, and legal right to vote, everyone so qualified must vote. Voting rights have been fought for, and thousands have died to make this a reality here in the USA, and in some other cultures. Taking this right for granted, or not exercising your franchise when the time comes for you to do so, is GROSS NEGLIGENCE of that right and privilege.

* Do you choose them based on Color or Ethnicity?

* Do you choose them because they look like you, or subscribe to the same religion?

* Do you choose them because they subscribe to the same narrow minded world view like you?

* Do you choose them because they are Moslem, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, or Scientologist?
Or should you look for the following:

* A resolve to create Unity in Diversity.

* Full economic growth and opportunities for all.

* National Security from internal and external threats.

* Pursuing and maintaining good cultural and economic relations with friends and allies.

* Ensuring that the commonweal have access to all economic, educational, and employment opportunities available.

* Ensuring that all political parties are included in the political process, without favor, discrimination, or ostracism.

* And maintaining free access to all Media, both Public and Private, and without censure.

CONCLUSION:

To be a truly progressive society, voters must be able to entertain these thoughts. Preserve these values. And strive through social advocacy, to ensure that they are implemented, and preserved for posterity.

The time it takes both Democrats and Republicans to ridicule each other's party about irregularities, personal integrity, or curruption.
Which is evident in both camps, and need sanitizing!

* They should produce a saleable plan of action for Iraq & Afghanistan, the withdrawl of US troops, and a workable plan of action for

* A National Disaster scanario.

* A National Health Plan that accommodates all levels of the working classes.

* And a voters ballot system that is acceptable, workable, has a paper trail to verify elligibility to qualify, and for counting after the vote, for accuracy.

These are the SALIENT national concerns or all Americans currently.

Snitching On Those Who Are HIV Positive!


I have found in some groups that I am affiliated with, individuals who take great pleasure in outing some person/s who are HIV positive. And then have the temerity to tell the group when challenged, that that person's HIV status is COMMON knowledge.

Common knowledge to whom?

Maybe to that person. But something is only common knowledge when it can be accessed on the Internet, the General News Media, The Tabloids, and other public venues. So do not tell me that one has the right or presumption, to blackmail someone because they feel they can do so with impunity.

I have also seen individuals who claim to be Advocates for people living with HIV & AIDS, slander or inform this and other forums about someone's HIV status. (Both living and dead). When they should also know that such information is considered CLASSIFIED or CONFIDENTIAL, and must not be divulged without that person's EXPLICIT consent to do so!

With regard to the above expressed concerns, I am very concerned about the MOTIVE for such disclosures or information provided or given, in any Group or Chat Room! And I still would like to caution anyone who intends to, or feels that he or she must tell the world about his or her HIV status. To consider the consequences that such disclosures can bring in the future on his or her reputation. Both in death and when still in this physical life.

Child Adoptions In Africa Today!

Child Adoptions In Africa:

It seems like most African states have laws that debar most individuals from adopting African children. What these laws are based on, or if they debar a foreign national or non-African national from adopting any African child, I am un-aware of.
However, with the thousands of African children, and growing in volume every year, as a result of continuous wars or military conflict in several regions of that continent. Some consideration for changing those laws to make it possible for adoption, aught to be considered.

The current situation that the pop star Madonna faces with adopting a Malawian child orphan, is a case in point. According to her public statements, she has been able to make arrangements to adopt that child, with the father's expressed consent. But is unable to take the child away to the U.S.A. permanently just yet. She claims that she had no knowledge that the child had visiting relatives, or a grand parent, who visits regularly or irregularly. And if she had known of this situation, then she may not have bothered to pursue that child's adoption.
However, she expressed her concern for anyone in the future, who intends to do the same for African children who are orphans, that the current laws there, inhibits the smooth process, or is not clear on who or what criteria is needed for Legal adoption to take place. And this situation inhibits the chances for millions of African children who are left homeless, parentless, HIV infected, and homeless, to ever be able to grow up normally, or have a normal future like their peers, under the current laws continentally.

Personally, bi-racial, and non-cultural adoptions have been happening for as long as I can remember globally. Whether that is the underlying reason for the conflict in Africa with Madonna's quest, is anyone's guess. However, politics will not help those children who desperately need homes, parents, educating, and someone to make them feel loved. If politicians and un-realistic laws prohibit such reality!
Humans adapt to any environment, or culture overtime. And children of bi-national and bi-racial marriages have also learned to adapt to that reality, and grow up to be responsible adults and parents themselves, in this multicultural world that we all occupy.

Barak Obama is a young man with great potential to serve this nation of ours. He has shown the ability to sway minds and hearts hitherto un-moveable or un-shakeable. However, the question or concern in some quarters about his prospects for success to the White House in 2008, concerns me very much. Personally, I feel he has as good a chance of getting there as Hillary Clinton. And in some ways even greater, because he could relate more to the commonweal.

Some Motives For Religious Fanaticism!

Religion provides The Motives Or Needs, that all those who believe in it expect to achieve!


For example:

Every religious teaching make reference to some God or Deity, that cannot be seen by the human physical eyes.

All religions doctrine promote the view that with FAITH in that religious doctrine or philosophy, your individual needs, hopes, expectations, and inner peace will be appeased.

Most religions promulgate the view, that the world has Good and Evil people and forces that affects us all. Especially those who are irreligious, or does not believe in a God.

Therefore, when an individual or individuals act in ways that may or may not cause peace, harmony, unity, brotherhood, or the well being of all. One might say that he, she, or they are fanatical in their religious thinking. But what is actually happening here is that those individuals are merely expressing that which they perceive as the expectation of that religion or religious philosophy.

This interpretation of that religion or religious philosophy may be criticized or ridiculed by some who also feel that this behavior stems from misinterpretation of the doctrine. And this view may seem contradictory to the general or majority view, in that particular region or place of worship.

Salman Rushdie the Indian writer who wrote the book titled 'The Satanic Verses' in the 1970's, was ridiculed by millions of Moslems in the Moslem world for (according to them), he ridiculed the prophet Mohammed. And this was not the accepted thing for any good Moslem to say or write. Subsequently the Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran issued a Fatwah for his death, for this blatant blasphemy of their prophet.

Today, Islam and Christianity is being used by politicians to induce certain sensitive feelings or values espoused within their constituencies. This is just one method used to rally support for certain conservative, radical or religious views that is felt by some to be promoted or preserved.

Time To Defend Yourself Gay Men-Or Die!

Stand & Fight Brothers-Defend Yourself Or Continue To Die!



Preface:
Too often I hear and read about Gay men being attacked physically on the streets in the USA, beaten up, or killed. The attackers are mostly teens or young adolescents, who attack us in groups of three to five individuals, with Base-Ball bats, Sticks, Metal implements, or with their Bare hands. This phenomenon has been the reality in this country for too long.

So it is now our time to defend ourselves IN A REAL WAY!


Demonstrations:


There have been demonstrations, and more demonstrations in the streets of this country against "Gay Bashing," as it is referred or described. But the results or cessation of these abuses are on the increase in most cities still. Some states have enacted legislation to penalize the convicted of such HATE crimes with imprisonment and fines. But this legal deterrent has not worked either.


What & Who indulges in Gay Bashing?


Gay Bashing is both Vocal and Physical. This is also done by Gay and Bisexual men, who feel some sort of Self-hate towards themselves or other Gay men for various reasons. Mostly psychological. So this form of giving such HATRED expression is indulged in.

Heterosexuals or presumed heterosexual men and women also indulge in Bashing Homosexuals, when they have an AXE to grind personally with Homosexuality, and Homosexuals!


The Time To Physically Act Has Come:


They are several ways to defend oneself when one is attacked by these THUGS on the streets, and I will identify some of them!

* Gay Bashers attack Gay men or presumed Gay men in groups of four to six individuals. Mostly young men.

* Some Gay men feel that if they run away from this situation, they will be safe. But you are DEAD WRONG!

* If you run away when attacked, you will be pursued, and when caught, will be seriously injured, or killed. That is A FACT.

* My suggestion to you here is simply this.

* Assess the situation as these Thugs are approaching you to strike.

* Watch closely for the one that you feel you could hold on to first, or be able to wrestle with.

* Then GRAB that one, try to SINK your TEETH in his NECK or FACE.

* Do not release it until he is screaming for you to stop, and the BLOOD is spewing out from his face or neck.

* By this time, the others will get scared and start to run away from the scene. Spilling BLOOD has that effect on most people. Even THUGS.

* This is the surest way to show some form of bravery or self defense against your attackers, if you are un-armed, or without some form of self defense knowledge, skills, or weapon.


We Are Sending A Message:


When Gay men begin to stand and fight PHYSICALLY, regardless of the ODDS, then the society at large will realize that we are not all SISSIES, or FRIGHTENED SCREAMING MIMIES. But we know how to defend ourselves too.

Can The Iraqi Government Really Create A National Climate Of Peace & Security?


* Here is the current situation on the ground politically in Iraq.

* The current elected political administration's leadership is housed SAFELY in the notorious American constructed "Green Zone."

* These leaders are unable, or too frightened to appear on the streets or villages, cities and towns of Iraq, for fear of being killed.

* So they make public appearances from the SAFETY of their offices in the Green Zone on television.

* When elected officials are not seen in person, or are unable to meet with their constituents, or is unable to listen or talk with constituents about concerns that affect them. That is the beginning of distrust, and potential downfall.

Furthermore:

If Democracy is going to become a reality in Iraq, (Iraqi style), then some efforts MUST be made by these elected officials to be seen locally, and to mix and mingle, with the commonweal, as they are expected to do.

No amount of military strength, or boosting of national security forces, will prevent the total collapse of this flimsy political administration, unless the above considerations are taken into consideration, or implemented!

The Legacy Of Foreign Occupation & Colonization:


It is absolutely necessary for me to give an introduction as per the motive of this article. It has been a concern of mine for some time now, and desperately needed an outlet. Therefore, I have decided to make this observation public, especially in the light of current military, and other foreign occupations in sovereign and non-sovereign states like Darfur, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Palestine!

The following situations and experiences, follow the expatriation of most foreign occupations in countries, or states, that may or may not have invited that foreign military, or nation within it's borders. And whenever such foreign occupation takes place, the occupiers complain that collateral expenses, military personnel, economic investments are at stake. And some form of compensation must be given to them, prior, or after their departure, for their involvement or assistance.

But history has shown that these requests are pale in relation to the financial, territorial, and cultural gains obtained in those foreign countries by these occupying countries. And countries who are on the verge of inviting other states to assist them militarily, to put down rebellion, maintain internal peace, or to protect their sovereignty, must be prepared to live with this resulting reality after they have left, for decades to come.

Under foreign occupation, the following reality becomes quite evident. For example:

* A total or partial loss of Indigenous culture or Roots:

* A new National and foreign language/s is entrenched:

* Ethnic divisions, Ethnic strife, and possibly separation results:

* Lack of a National Identity or National Pride results:

* A foreign religion or religious beliefs permeate the entire society:

* Lack of Pertinent Education, Skills, and Technology to develop and Grow Industrially:

* Foreign Ownership or Control of all, or most important Mineral and Natural Resources

* A Puppet Government or Body Politic that caters to the former occupier's interests:

* Self aggrandizement of Local Politicians en-masse:

* And growing opportunistic political leaders, who use any means necessary, to obtain the vote or political power:


Therefore:
It is absolutely VITAL to have all foreign Troops, Military Personnel, and Civilian Technocrats leave as soon as possible!

One Man-One Woman Concept:


* This too is a fallacy, because there isn't enough heterosexual males for every heterosexual female, on a one on one marriage basis, on this planet.

* And not all heterosexuals are inclined to get married either.

Men generally and globally die many years before their female counterparts or women generally. So having a mate or spouse until death, is a gamble every woman has to take before marriage.


The Maintenance Man and Woman Concept explained:


It is the view that some men and women are prepared to have a sexual affair, or a emotional relationship with another person, even though they know that he or she is already 'spoken for or married.

Several reasons are given by those who indulge in this behavior. But the general view is simply this:

* I was cheated on before by my spouse, so why not repay the compliment.

* The other person cheated does not have to know about this affair. And if he or she does, then they would have to deal with it and their errant lover or boyfriend however they can.

* Some women say, I didn't know about his marriage before we got serious, and when I did, it was too late to end it!

CONCLUSION:

These views also apply to homosexual affairs or relationships!

North Korea Flexes It's muscle!

The Policy Of Pre-emtive Military Action:

The behavior of Iran and North Korea with regard to the acquisition of nuclear technology or missiles, are based on the above political policy of the George W. Bush administration.
Humans react according to how they perceive any situation that threatens their survival and security. North Korea and Iran are behaving in this manner as national sovereign states. They feel threatened by this pre-emptive policy, declared by the world's only nuclear super power.
Having nuclear capabilities, or technology, would help significantly to limit any military action/s, and to create a political climate for a more equitable say in the decisions of the UN Security Council, on international affairs, when it comes to international peace, security, stability, and trade.
A nuclear strike by any nation would possibly create a climate for a global all out war.
In this situation, allies of all factions will support each other in order to ensure, that some viable defense is established. All of this though is a fallacious perception. Because if a global nuclear war starts, the end result will be TOTAL annihilation of all the world's peoples, and crops.
Leaving in it's wake a global fallout of acid rain, radiation, and earthquakes, that will make any living thing on the planet impossible to survive, much less live.
In fact, it will be ARMAGEDDON in reality!

* Whether or not this theory is valid, factual, or plausible, what relevance does it have on the human condition currently on the planet?
* It may be fascinating to those who are interested in these matters. But how does it explain the suffering, conflicts, religious, social, and otherwise, that all human souls experience on this planet?

Human Kidneys & Livers Can Be Bought In China!

Some months ago, I circulated an article that I wrote, based on a BBC news report on the same topic above mentioned. This was very troubling for me at that time, and the international political community seem not to care or even mention this practice in China.
Today, on BBCnews.com television, this same human rights issue was mentioned. But this time, it was an undercover White male who took us in one of the hospitals in China, (with a hidden camera and recorder) to film his interviews personally. One doctor said to this reporter that he could acquire a kidney for his (fictitious uncle), within two weeks.
When the reporter asked if these body parts are from prisoners who were executed by the state, he openly admitted YES! Incidentally, China is the only country in the entire world that executes more criminals than all countries in totality. Human life in China is dispensable. That was, and still is a national fact. China's population is in the billions, and disposing a few hundreds here and there, is just a drop in the bucket. Which may help ease the food shortage, and population explosion, (especially for the very poor).
The Chinese authorities claim not to be aware of these organ selling practices. But that claim does not hold water, because the Chinese government knows, sees, and monitors all organizations, (private and public) throughout the State Of China. And in order for any hospital institution to acquire a condemned criminal's organs, the authorities must be notified, and permission given.
Also when China is about to execute any criminal, there is very little or no question posed to such criminals, for the donation of their organs. One criminal's father was also interviewed by the undercover reporter. And he claimed that he was not allowed to see his son after he was arrested, nor attend the execution.
China also cremates all of it's executed criminals, thus making it almost impossible to acquire forensics about cause of death. Much less find out if any body part was removed. I also saw in one of these hospitals foreigners (mostly Whites), who were waiting in one of the hospital lobbies to seek the purchase of much needed organs.
These organs are sold for thousands of British pounds. And only the rich may be able to fly to China to acquire same.

Iran's President-Ahmadinejad's Speech At The UN-2006:


Basically, he accused the nuclear powers currently, of allowing some among them to continue the proliferation of nuclear weapons. And denying those non-nuclear nations from acquiring any such technology.

He also pointed out the domination of one powerful nation in The Security Council's decisions. At the expense of the rest of the council.

Special reference was made of the support of Israel's action in Lebanon, the destruction of the Southern provinces infrastructure, and the killing of thousands of it's citizens. While the UN looked on helplessly, until Israel had it's way with murdering innocent civilians.

He also stressed that in a world of nations, without justice, peace, and the ability to pursue self determination. The seeds of discontent, fear, aggression, and mistrust will be sown.

However, the conspicuous absence of the US and Israeli representatives at this speech, must be made known here!

American's Obsession with Food!


While the poor and developing countries struggle with the need to provide adequate food for it's people. Americans seem to crave or over indulge in eating more and more food every day.

Yes, this craving is primarily supported by the media's promotion of food, cooking of food, talk shows that promote food commercials, game shows that provide food hampers, and the ever present inducement, of new and more types of mouth watering snacks and foods.


Obesity & Poor Nutrition:

Poor nutrition is a major factor that causes the development of obesity, and poor health. Most working class low income level wage earners, are unable to maintain proper nutrition within their families. Most are not oriented to pay strict attention to a proper nutritional diet. And those who are, cannot afford to do so on their meager wages/income.

But this flaw is no only indicative of low income households. It is the general feature of American society. A society that craves food, like they crave oil for the motor vehicles they love, and the industrial infrastructure of the general economy.


Solutions:

Until the educational curriculum in all schools, stresses that proper nutrition is the key to survival, good health, longevity, and a more active life style. People of all ages, social strata, and economic abilities, will continue to indulge their relentless appetites for food!
