Rape Of Minors & Infanticides!

January 25-2006:

Rape Of Minors & Infanticide:

It seems like a new phase of infanticides and the raping of minors in New York and other cities in America. Only recently we had the killing of little Nix Marie Brown, alleged to have been jointly conducted by her mother and stepfather.

Today (Jan 25-2006), another child was dunked to the bottom of a bathtub by her mother. But the child survived this time around. Breakins and rape in the five boroughs of New York City is also on the rise. And Yet the Mayor is saying, that crime is at the lowest it has been in his city.

I believe this phenomenon is fueled by poverty, mental illness, economic devastation, lack of hope, helplessness, and drug use/addiction. All of these factors play a part in who is affected, and who would be inclined to commit these crimes. The predominant Black & Latino communities in New York City has the most poverty, lack of economic opportunities, joblessness, un-employment, overcrowded housing, and lack of adequate and safe housing.

Let no one tell me that this phenomenon is fueled by a lack of faith, religion, religious belief, or family instability. God or religion has nothing to do with these depravities.

When there is no chance for a decent livelihood, abject poverty, lack of economic opportunities, un-employment, etc., then people tend to turn to drugs, drink, child abuse, self abuse, and environmental mischief.

Until the social, economic, and environmental issues, that lend for this type of behavior is corrected or remedied, this behavioral pattern will continue to haunt our communities.

Om Shanti.
