Give Credit Where Credit Is Warranted!

May 31-2006:

Let Us Give Due Where Due Is Warranted!

I have seen several articles and comments from Brothers (I presume), who take great pride in throwing filth at Opra Winfry's name whenever they get the chance. And I wonder what is really the underlying reason/s for these slanders?

I recall the issue when it was alleged that Opra went to Macy's store in New York City after closing time, and complained because they would not allow her inside after she told them who she was.

This incident (true or not), was another issue that several Brothers took issue against Oprah's attitude in this incident. Some claimed that she was over-reacting, too pushy, or think too much of herself, to comply with the rules.

But I am sure if it was a White celebrity that behaved in that manner, no Brother would even care to comment, much less berate her/him for it.

Now this thing about Oprah not allowing certain Rappers on her show!

As I see it, Oprah Winfry has allowed people from all walks of life, persuasions, characters, and sexual orientation to sit with her on her talk show, several times. She is the only talk show host that has international appeal, and her following of viewers are in the millions. And of all age groups, sexual interests, and gender.

She has contributed financially in the millions, to charities all over the world, much more that any other Black celebrity that I know of. And she is forever looking for places where she could be of help to the needy, destitute, and unfortunate. She fervently believes in 'Giving Back' some of her bounty, to those in need, as a personal responsibility, and belief!

So whenever I see and read filth from individuals who are of no character, background, reputation, integrity, or substance, complaining about what Oprah Winfry didn't do for them. I say, dam you, get with the program, and try to emulate her in your lives!

Om Shanti.
