A Suicide Attempt That Was Thwarted:

July 10-2005:

A Suicide Attempt-That Was Thwarted!

This morning around 8.30 am, a four storey building in Upper Manhattan-New York City, imploded within itself.
A loud noise like a bomb was heard by residents and neighbors close by, and almost within seconds, the four storey building imploded upon itself. This building was between two much higher buildings, so the debris from the implosion was pushed outwards onto the sidewalk.
As fate would have it, no passersby was seriously hurt. But it is alleged that some doctor who resided in one of the upper floors of the said building, was sending e-mails to friends, claiming that he intends to commit suicide.
So the fire that caused the explosion was found to be, the result of a gas leakage.
Was this leakage the impetus for the suicide attempt?
The said doctor who allegedly intended to commit suicide, was pulled from the basement of the wreckage, and with his own guided assistance to rescuers about his position in that situation. He was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, but miraculously survived this fire and implosion of the building.
The fire department alleges that the gas leakage might be the cause of the explosion. But it is still not clear if it was a deliberate sabotage to the gas pipeline. Or a situation that somehow facilitated this doctor's suicide intentions.
